Safari Expo. Spring 2017
The 22nd International exhibition Safari Expo, one of the most important events opening outdoor seasons which is very popular among hunters, fishermen and fans of active outing, was held March 9-12, 2017 in the Crocus Expo Pavilion 3. The number of visitors exceeded 20 000!
The Official opening ceremony of the show took place March 9. It was presented by Serguei Egorychev, Director Department of special exhibition projects.
Participants of the ceremony:
- Konstantin Eliseev, acting head of Rosprirodnadzor department central in the Federal District;
- Elena Gorbunova, Chairman of Women’s Hunting Club;
- Leonid Sonin, Chairman of the Board of Safari Moscow Hunting Club;
- Oleg Lebedev, deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, member of committee on agrarian issues;
- Alexander Trukhachev, President of the Center of assistance to development of deep water fishing and hunting, Russian champion on blue marlin fishing;
- Serguei Aprelov, producer, presenter of the program My Fishing at Russia 2 TV Channel;
- Serguei Shaguiniv, Judge of International Cynological Federation.
250 companies from Russia and foreign countries displayed their products and services at the exposition comprising overall exhibit space of 10 000 sq m. The exhibitors presented the latest and advanced products and services related to Hunting, Clothing, Archery, Fishing, Dog Training, Big Game Outfitters, Hiking and Backpacking, Camping, Lodges and Resorts, Taxidermy, Boats and Marinas, All Terrain Vehicles, Fly Fishing, Adventures, Anglers, Outdoor Wear, Guide Services, Sport fishing, Bait and Tackle, Fishing Products, Hunting Knives, Outdoor Adventure, Outdoor accessories, Archery Instructions and Equipment, outdoor furniture, Knives and Cutlery, Campers and all kinds of outdoor products.
Expanded floor space was organized into thematic sectors: Hunting and Fishing Outfit, Hunting and Fishing Tours, Technical Means for Active Outing. Separate exhibition section was devoted to Tourism and Extreme sports. It improved visitors navigation around the halls, made suppliers stands easier to find and provided our large show with more efficiency.
As its popularity and success rate had grown over the last years Safari Expo has developed to incorporate more than just an exhibition. These special events serve to attract leading exhibitors and visitors and allow all participants the chance to broaden their knowledge and of course their sales potential. The calendar of events featured conferences and seminars covering issues related to reproduction and rational use of hunting and fishing resources of the Russian Federation, presentations of novelties from leading national producers of equipment and gears that would allow representatives of regions to show advantages of the native land in the best way.
The visitors enjoyed indoor shooting ranges (archery, multimedia and knife throwing). They took training courses to master primary skills of shooting and throwing under the guidance of professionals and thus had an opportunity to feel themselves genuine hunters. A Knife Throwing Tournament for Mukhtarbek Kantemirov Prize ran within the frames of the project. The range of 5,5 m was established for the finals. In persistent struggle Artem Dmitriev was granted the first prize, Nikita Nikulin – the second and Oleg Novikiv – the third.
Representatives from the Women Hunting Club presented hunting and gun dogs of various breeds. Moreover all willing dog lovers had an opportunity to consult leading cynologists and visitors to watch dog performances with elements of training.
Kuzmich Show was held daily on the show site. Gamekeeper and forester Kuzmich from one of the most popular Peculiarities of the National Hunt movie, the first and most notable “Russian national comedy” became the host of the event. As soon as the movie was released in 1995 it became a nationwide success in Russia, the leader at the Russian box office. The part of an eccentric huntsman Kuzmich had been played by Victor Bychkov. Victor Bychkov entertained the guests of Safari Expo by songs, theme quizzes and autograph and photo sessions.
Safari Expo project has been highly appreciated by professional hunters and gamers, fishermen and all fans of active outing. The event has been developing actively introducing with each edition new sections and attracting newcomers.
