17th MOSCOW INTERNATIONAL OPTICAL FAIR

The 17th Moscow International Optical Fair (MIOF), the leading B2B project of the branch and the main business platform for the specialists of large Russian and foreign companies, was held September 21 through 24, 2015 in the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre.

This year 105 companies from 11 regions of Russia (Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Simferopol, the Republic of Crimea, the Vladimir, Volgograd, Novosibirsk, Rostov, Sverdlovsk and Yaroslavl regions) and 3 foreign countries (Italy, China and Japan) exhibited their products and achievements on the space of 9 000 sq m.

Such famous key players of the market of optical branch as Marcolin-Rus, Luxottica, Seiko, Optic Dias, Inveco, Avvita, Kering group and Hoya participated in the event.

The Gala Opening ceremony of the fair was presented by Serguei Egorychev, Director of Crocus Expo IEC Department of Special Exhibition Projects. Participants of the ceremony:

  • Dmitry Mityukov, representative of Abium company;
  • Elena Yakutina, representative of Market Assistant Group;
  • Damiana Andreozzi, representative of Markisa Project company;
  • Evgueny Shumilov, representative of Hoya Rus company.

All speakers noted that the market of optical branch develops despite difficulties of today's hard time, and production doesn't cease to enjoy popularity.

MIOF is the main platform in Russia for the work of the optical market professionals – for the conclusion of contracts, establishment of new contacts, and exchange of experience. Presentations of new collections of frames, corrective and contact lenses, equipment for specialized retail chains and salons took place at the fair. The trade fair provided the perfect platform from which to preview new products, evaluate market trends, and establish long-lasting and commercially profitable partnerships. Despite the dynamic changes taking place in Russia and the rapid growth of the sector, the show continued to complement and reflect the industry’s demand and was a promotional opportunity not to be missed.

The exposition sections traditionally covered the full range of optical products and relevant technological processes: eyeglass fashion, ready-to-wear corrective glasses and lenses, cases and glass and lens care products, diagnostic equipment, software for optician’s, various accessories, trade equipment for optician's, specialized optics related media and many other things.

MIOF comprised an exhibition of innovation projects and technologies presented by the leading companies in this sector, a special platform for the equipment demonstration, and a conference for discussion of such issues as economic efficiency of the companies during the crisis, the companies’ technologies and solutions aimed at efficient use of resources.

Participation in the trade fair provided a unique opportunity to present a company and products to a distinctly selected targeted audience of industry specialists. They were well prepared to discuss business in the Russian market and to close a deal on-site.

Participation of Markiza Project company, the representative of the largest producer Kering group, became one of the openings of the autumn fair edition. Besides the Russian division of the Japanese producer of lenses Hoya-Russia for the first time joined exhibitors of MIOF.

Round tables, master classes and presentations for specialists in various subjects, including progressive lenses, optimization of business processes in optical salons, novelties of contact lenses from producers were held within the frames of the business program. A variety of events, contests and workshops became another centre of attraction for key audience and an interesting source of publications in specialized and business press. A tight program of exhibition-related events enabled to obtain comprehensive information on how to organize efficient and profitable business within your company in line with all the requirements of modern economy.

Moscow International Optical Fair (MIOF) is an event for professionals, experts and producers, one of the most important platforms of our country for demonstration of the latest achievements.
