MOSCOW HOBBY EXPO

The 6th International Moscow Hobby Expo exhibition was held April 9 through 12 in Crocus Expo IEC. The event became a point of attraction for racing drivers, pilots, seamen, magicians, soldiers, princesses, designers and collectors. The first pavilion of the expo grounds hosted two exhibitions at the same time – Moscow Hobby Expo and Art&Craft!
The speakers at the Official Opening Ceremony of the show noted in their welcome speeches that hobby plays an important role in human lives, and they also underlined the aspiration of the organizers to unite the greatest number of entertaining pastime types in one place, to present all possible novelties and to promote useful hobbies.
As its popularity and success rate has grown over the last years the trade fair has developed to incorporate more than just an exhibition. These special events served to attract leading exhibitors and visitors and allowed all participants the chance to broaden their knowledge and of course their sales potential. More than 11 000 attendees participated in various master classes and sport competitions within the frames of the event: Indoor Russian Grand Prix 2015 in classes of radio-controlled electric SUVs, genuine air fights of new mini-quadrocoptes Drone Fighter, Mini-Z and radio-controlled SUVs for rent, a saturated business program of the Federation of Aircraft Modeling Sport of Russia, international car and aircraft models competitions, seminars and special presentations on various topics, exhibitors’ presentations and many other things. The Wright Brothers company for the first time presented micro quadcopter Blade® Nano QX 3D, which breaks the barriers of maneuverability by making high-speed flips, hair-pin turns and inverted flight simple to perform. Extrahobby.ru shop relied on exclusive demonstration of the 1/5 scale Track model with electric motor designed and made by Extrahobby experts with use of 80% of details of own production.
Besides the 2nd RC Drift Winter Championship of Russia initiated and organized by the Federation of Auto Modeling Sport of Russia took place within the frames of Moscow Hobby Expo 2015. A distinguished panel of judges including the TOYS ATTACK FAMILY (DuckAttack Drift Team) drifter Alexander Shegolev, the champion from Belarus Yury Sploshnoy (Paga Performance) and the VIP-guest – the three-time vice-champion of Russia on drifting Nikita Shikov from the Red Bull/Bridgestone team.
A big carpet zone (20х16 m) with a podium for pilots and a track from the Japanese company Tetsujin was for the first time arranged within the completions area. Long-awaited division of classes into subclasses became one more innovation of the championship: 50x50, CS and 2WD Gyro. Competitions were crowned with DRIFT KING superfinal – for the best in the relative class.
Aiming to assist visitors to easier orient themselves Moscow Hobby Expo exposition was segmented as follows:
- railroad modeling (all sizes!);
- ship modeling;
- aircraft modeling;
- vehicles modeling;
- war gaming;
- radio controlled models of tanks;
- tools, devices and facilities, equipment, materials for modeling;
- electric vehicles and electric skates;
- accessories for models and dioramas;
- architectural models;
- accessories for mock-ups and dioramas;
- table games;
- aerial survey, photo and video devices;
- literature, manuals, master classes, films, competitions of models and many other things.
Moscow Hobby Expo 2015 was traditionally held with official support of the Federation of Aircraft Modeling Sport of Russia, the Federation of Ship Modeling Sport of Russia and the Federation of Auto Modeling Sport of Russia. The exhibition confirms its special status from year to year, contributing to the development and popularization of modeling sport among young people.
