12th INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION SAFARI EXPO. SPRING

The next edition of Safari Expo. Spring International exhibition, one of the most important events which are very popular among hunters and fishermen, was successfully held February 22-25, 2012 in the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre.

The exhibition is officially supported by the RosOkhotRybolovSoyuz Association and the Ministry for Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation. It is one of the most attended and authoritative events of the profile in Russia which stably develops, improves and attracts more and more visitors with each new edition.

The spring exposition comprised 12 000 sq m and incorporated the leading producers of goods and services in the segment of gaming and fishing outfit, special equipment, powerful vehicles for movements in severe wilderness conditions and interesting proposals on ecological tours organization. All exhibits were segmented in five thematic section: Hunting, Fishing, Technical Means, Leisure and Tourism and Health of Nation.

More than 250 companies from 26 regions of the Russian Federation and their foreign colleagues from Hungary, Bulgaria, Spain, Croatia, the Republic of South Africa, Canada, New Zealand, Ukraine, Belarus, Kirghizia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia participated in the trade fair.

The Official Gala Opening Ceremony was traditionally presented by Arcady Zlotnikov, Deputy Director General ZAO CROCUS. He welcomed visitors and exhibitors and introduced high-ranking guests of the fairgrounds: Pavel Semenov, Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, Denis Kuvayev, Director for Sales Development of Chetra – Promyshlennye Mashiny OAO, Alexander Tsarev, Commercial Director of Zavod Vezdekhodnyh Mashin OOO (Nizhni Novgorod), Tatyana Aramileva, Vice-president of the Central Managing Committee of RosOkhotRybolovSoyuz Association, Vladimir Dubovik, Rector of the Russian State Agrarian University, and Directors of the projects Safari Expo and Cross-country Vehicle Valery Zubko and Alexander Egoshin.

All speakers noted the importance and urgency of the events and draw attention to the special festive mood reigning in Crocus Expo IEC on the eve of the Motherland Defender Day and congratulated the strong half of mankind on a coming holiday. With each year Safari Expo becomes not simply a place of a pleasant friendly dialogue but first of all a serious business platform for conclusion of new contacts and establishment of long-term partnership relations.

Bright impressions, impressive exposition and interesting competitions have transformed this event into a genuine holiday for participants and visitors (more than 25 000 people).

As its popularity and success rate has grown over the last years Safari Expo has developed to incorporate more than just an exhibition. These special events served to attract leading exhibitors and visitors and allowed all participants the chance to broaden their knowledge and of course their sales potential. Show of hunting and gun dogs were held at the show. All dog lovers had an opportunity to receive cynologists’ advisory on dogs care, breeding, training and field trial with hunting and gun dogs. Visitors of the tradeshow enjoyed a calendar of entertaining events: an open championship for knife throwing, fishing specialists show, master classes on taxidermy and game trophies. Daily presentations of novelties in fishing tackles and fishing modes (ultralight, jerkbait and twitching), master classes on spinning and wabler selection arranged by sportsmen from Russia and the CIS countries were held in hall 8. The visitors had an opportunity to try their purchased tackles in a specially installed pool right on site.

Consultations of leading experts on hunting and fishing tourism and presentations with participation of state structures, public organizations and commercial structures representatives were held within the frames of the calendar of events.
