11th International specialized exhibition and tasting
The 11th International specialized exhibition-tasting Wine Card, a unique project of Crocus Expo which united experts, restaurateurs, suppliers and consumers of wine products for discussion of pressing problems of modern wine-making community, was held November 21 through 23, 2017 in Crocus Expo, one of the most perspective exhibition centers of the world.
Participants of the Official Opening Ceremony:
- Vera Beradze, honored actress of Russia, Moskontsert soloist;
- Mikhail Gokhberg, academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, honored writer, one of founders of delta glider sport in the USSR and Russia;
- Konstantin Kuperveys, composer, pianist;
- Igor Danilyants, CEO of Gazosnabzheniye OOO, doctor of engineering;
- Moustapha Melikov, deputy director of Crocus Expo on foreign economic activity;
- Rudolf Avanesov, director of the Wine Card exhibition.
Wine Card was the Russia’s only dedicated on-trade wine event, where vetted suppliers showcased wines, accessories and equipment and connected with key buyers and decision makers from the restaurant, pub and hotel trade. The priority for the event was to attract hard-to-reach buyers from independently owned “white tablecloth establishments” based in Moscow; with the greater other regions being secondary markets. The wine industry is associated with high quality of product and service, tradition and elegance and Crocus Expo was the perfect venue to reflect this.
Wine Card became a milestone event in the wine sector advocating moderate wine consumption and reasonable wine promotion. The organizer were interested in diversity of style (they stock scores of different grape varieties, not just hundreds of labels) and wines that both enhance our diverse cuisine and challenge your senses (instead of just being big fruit bombs slathered in oak that make a strong first impression but then deaden your palate).
More than 50 exhibitors displayed their wine and related products including samples of wine making art on the exposition exceeding 2 000 sq m. There were producers and distributors from Azerbaijan, Italy, France, Spain, Chile, Australia, Argentina, Hungary, Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic. Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Kaluga, Smolensk, Bryansk, Krasnodar Krai and other regions presented their products on behalf of Russia.
Participation in the trade fair became a unique opportunity to present a company and products to a distinctly selected targeted audience of industry specialists. They were well prepared to discuss business in the Russian market and to close a deal on-site. The companies gained real commercial results from the exhibition.
Wine Card organizers introduced all advertisement opportunities now available to the tradeshow exhibitors. These extended services helped to attract visitors to your stand, announce new products and get the most out of the three exhibiting days.
The exhibition and tasting became again the place of meetings and business communication of experts in the field of winemaking from Russia and foreign countries. The project traditionally received extended press coverage in specialized media. Many participants hold successful negotiations on the platform, having invited to the exhibition their partners. In particular partners of Palais Royal from well-known wine-making regions of Italy (Tuscany, Venice, etc.); representatives of Embassy of Moldova in the Russian Federation; wine makers from Georgia made tour at the exposition. Visitors were specialists of the branch, wine makers, wholesale buyers, investors and they highly appreciated the event because it had attracted many wine brands to the Russian market, and they also expressed desire to take part in the event next year.
