20th MOSCOW INTERNATIONAL OPTICAL FAIR (MIOF)

The anniversary 20th Moscow International Optical Fair (MIOF), the leading B2B project of the branch and the main business platform for the specialists of Russian and foreign companies, will be held February 15 through 17 in the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre.

The trade fair provides the perfect platform from which to preview new products, evaluate market trends, and establish long-lasting and commercially profitable partnerships. Despite the dynamic changes taking place in Russia and the rapid growth of the sector, the show continues to complement and reflect the industry’s demand and is a promotional opportunity not to be missed.

The optical industry is a part of the health care industry and thus special quality requirements, accuracy of measurements and diagnostics are applied to its products and services. At the same time corrective glasses and sunglasses, color contact lenses and other optical products serve as irreplaceable fashionable accessories. A variety of materials and modern technologies provide ample opportunities for creation of new models and each premiere of the optical exhibition is also an event in the world of design!

104 companies will participate in the project. Representatives from 13 regions of Russia (Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, the Vladimir, Volgograd, Vologda, Kaluga, Novosibirsk, Rostov, Tambov, Yaroslavl regions, Khabarovsk area, Republics of Crimea and Bashkortostan) and 5 foreign countries (Belarus, Italy, China, Turkey and Ukraine) will display not only the latest developments in all directions of the optical industry (eyeglasses, lenses, professional equipment, software for optician’s and many other things), but also fresh design ideas, in particular, new collections of sunglasses from leading European and Asian producers intended for the forthcoming spring and summer season.

MIOF organizers traditionally prepare a highly topical business and educational forum program during which experts will have an opportunity to discover sale increase technologies, explore the latest innovations in production of eyeglass and contact lenses, to gain new knowledge of sight correction. Representatives of Hoya Lens Rus will tell about new products within the frames of the seminar on progressive lenses.

A variety of professional forums, contests and workshops will become another centre of attraction for key audience and an interesting source of publications in specialized and business press. A tight program of exhibition-related events enables to obtain comprehensive information on how to organize efficient and profitable business in line with all the requirements of the modern economy. Besides the results of 2016 in the optical retail will be summed up and new world tendencies in target audiences’ preferences will be defined within the frames of the business program.

The seminar held by Renzi Ercole, Head of SR Сommunicazione (Italy) consulting company, will become the highlight of the program.

The Awarding Ceremony for the 3rd Russian National Award for achievements in the optical industry Golden Lorgnette winners will take place within the frames of the program. The award is designed to recognize the most important individuals and companies in the optical industry for providing excellent professional service for the population, fostering innovation and spreading awareness of the optical industry. Participants of the contest promote their corporate image, products and services as well as create greater market awareness in the market segment throughout Russia.

The Rodenstock Academy (this year the German company celebrates its 140th anniversary), the Russian Academy Medical Optics and Optometry (Moscow), the State Medical Technical College (St. Petersburg) and other educational institutions will compete in a new nomination The Educational Project of the Year.

In total about 50 companies from all regions of Russia took part in the contest last year.

Official Opening Ceremony of the 20th Moscow International Optical Fair will take place February 15 in hall 8 of the Crocus Expo IEC Pavilion 2.

Ticket for the fair period will cost 250 RUB.
