International exhibition
GARDEN BUILD 2016
The 3rd International exhibition Garden Build, the most significant event for professionals of landscape industry – landscape architecture, gardening, territory improvement, design of open spaces and goods for horticulture – was held successfully April 5 through 8, 2016 in the second pavilion of Crocus Expo IEC. The event incorporated leading specialists and professionals of the market. Representatives from more than 100 Russian and foreign companies participated in the business program of the project.
The trade fair is the result of incorporated efforts of Crocus Expo IEC and GreenExpo exhibition company. The leading branch organizations such as the Guild of Managers and Developers (GUD), the Association of Landscape Architects of Russia (ALAROS) and the Russian Association of Planting Stock Producers (APPM) supported the idea of creation of an international business platform for the professionals of landscape industry and spaces design.
Last year’s edition was highly appreciated by exhibitors and visitors who considered the project to be one of the most perspectives. The project is mainly aimed at professionals involved in design and creation of comfortable and ecologically friendly environment.
The Official Gala Opening Ceremony took place April 5. Participants of the opening ceremony:
- Marijus Gvildis, the founder of the modern European floristics school in Kaunas, the participant and multiple award-winner of many international land art festivals, expert teacher at flower design schools in France, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Switzerland, Russia (St. Petersburg, Moscow);
- Dmitry Samoilovsky, Director General of New Park company;
- Elena Kazakova, Editor-in-chief of PrimaFlora magazine;
- Arkady Zlotnikov, deputy Director General AO CROCUS, First Deputy Director Crocus Expo IEC;
- Irina Dementieva, Director of Garden Build exhibition.
As its popularity and success rate has grown over the last years the trade fair has developed to incorporate more than just an exhibition. These special events served to attract leading exhibitors and visitors and allowed all participants the chance to broaden their knowledge and of course their sales potential. The calendar of events featured conferences, seminars and master classes of known national and foreign experts of landscaping which united all types of activity of gardeners and greenery specialists.
April 5 a famous florist from Lithuania Marijus Gvildis presented his wedding related works to designers, decorators, other florists and to wide audience. New technique, unusual use of materials and original design – distinctive features of Marijus seminars.
Floristic contest DESIGN PLUS Touch to Perfection ran for the third time within the frames of the Garden Build exhibition. The contest provided an opportunity to each designer florist to show talents, having created a unique work within the frames of the program and to present it at the show. The contest aimed to promote floristic as an art, crafts and design, improve professional skills, reveal new talented masters, contribute to the development of national and European floristic, present international floristic schools in Russia. This year the topic of the contest was devoted to 110th anniversary of Agnija Barto. The winners of the contest became Kristina Monika Skliaustyte and Kristina Siozinieme from Lithuania.
April 6 – Day of the Russian Floristic at Garden Build. Such well known masters of floristic art as Ulviya Akhmedova (the numerous participant of international projects in Alden Biesen (Belgium) and Olga Sharova (the director of the international flowers delivery service Florist.ru) held master classes which were attended by many designers, decorators and florists.
The next edition of the project will be rebranded! Following the requests from constant participants and visitors the project will receive a new name – Your Garden and will change the format, having become even more accessible for the general public and more interesting for the experts! Moreover, since 2017 the event will be held at the beginning of spring that will allow gardeners to be prepared thoroughly for the future season and get all necessary things well in advance.
