20th International exhibition Safari Expo
March 10-13, 2016
Crocus Expo IEC hosted the 20th anniversary edition of Safari Expo, International exhibition devoted to hunting and gaming, fishing, tourism and active outing in nature. The exhibition was officially supported by the Ministry for Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation and the All-Russian Alliance of Public Associations of Hunting and Fishing (RosOhotRybolovSoyuz).
Representatives of 300 companies from 8 regions of Russia and also from 8 foreign countries (Azerbaijan, Argentina, Belarus, Zimbabwe, China, Poland, South Africa and Tanzania) participated in the anniversary show edition. The exhibitors displayed their wide range of products and services on the exhibit space comprising more than 11 000 sq m.
The exhibitors present the latest and advanced products and services related to hunting, clothing, archery, fishing, dog training, big game outfitters, hiking and backpacking, camping, lodges and resorts, taxidermy, boats and marinas, all terrain vehicles, fly fishing, adventures, anglers, outdoor wear, guide services, sport fishing, bait and tackle, fishing products, hunting knives, outdoor adventure, outdoor accessories, archery instructions and equipment, outdoor furniture, knives and cutlery, campers and all kinds of outdoor products.
The exhibition traditionally enjoys high popularity: more than 20 000 attendees participated in events within the frames of the business program and made tour at the exposition.
The Gala Opening Ceremony of the Safari Expo took place on the 10th of March at 12:00 p.m. The ceremony was presented by Serguei Egorychev, director of the Department of special exhibition projects Crocus Expo IEC.
Participants of the ceremony:
- Valery Kuzenkov, editor-in-chief of Ohota magazine;
- Leonid Sonin, chairman of the Board of Safari Moscow Hunting Club;
- Serguei Aprelov, producer, presenter of the program My Fishing at Russia 2 TV channel;
- Elena Gorbunova, chairman of Women’s Hunting Club;
- Alexander Musiyenko, head of the Children's hunting and fishing pathfinder program of Skill Camp.
The speakers noted that the exhibition traditionally opens the forthcoming spring and summer season for hunters, fishers and fans of outdoor activities, thanked organizers for the next possibility of meetings and business communication with colleagues on the professional platform, and also congratulated participants and guests on the opening of the anniversary exhibition.
The organizers of the Safari Expo. Spring 2016 aimed to demonstrate the latest achievements and technologies in various areas of mutual relations between men and the nature; represented the latest developments of Russian and foreign companies related to hunting and fishing outfit, special purpose equipment and goods, technical means and vehicles used for the organization of hunting, fishing, outdoor activity and tourism.
The organizers of the exhibition aimed to bring together on the same platform all key national and foreign players and to offer an excellent platform to encourage networking among specialists and fans, to present the company and products in the Russian market, personally meet a wide audience of specialists, study market conditions, establish strong business relationship and just purchase various novelties for the season.
The exposition presented a full range of proposals from national and foreign producers of goods and services in the field of hunting, gaming and fishing equipment, special equipment, technical means and vehicles used in hunting, gaming and fishing, outdoor activities and tourism, thermo clothing, clothing from natural fur and wool, exclusive t-shirts and camouflage, convenient backpacks and bags, specialized optics, products from skin; fishing nets, coils, sinkers, floats; rods, spinnings, float tackles; literature on fishing and hunting; irreplaceable accessories; all types of bait; tents and mobile furniture for camping; taxidermy; products from bronze, silver, wood and ceramics; knives of all calibers and other cold weapon; environmentally friendly cosmetics and healthy products from different countries of the world; rubber and aluminum boats, sailing vessels and floating pontoons; powerful all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles and a lot of other things.
As its popularity and success rate had grown over the last years Safari Expo has developed to incorporate more than just an exhibition. These special events served to attract leading exhibitors and visitors and allowed all participants the chance to broaden their knowledge and of course their sales potential. The calendar of events featured conferences and seminars covering issues related to reproduction and rational use of hunting and fishing resources of our country, presentations of novelties from leading Russian producers of equipment and gears that would allow representatives of regions to show advantages of the native land in the best way.
Performances of dogs, our main friends and assistants in hunting, will become the highlight at the exhibition. A complex of sports and show events have been initiated and organized by Women's Hunting Club and Their Friends. They have prepared a highly topical and interesting program.
Consultations of leading experts on hunting and fishing tourism and presentations with participation of state structures, public organizations and commercial structures representatives will be held within the frames of the calendar of events.
All professionals of hunting and fishing business, and also fans of outdoor activities are invited in spring of 2016 to Crocus Expo IEC. Safari Expo provided each visitor with positive emotions, meetings with adherents; opportunities to discuss actual problems of hunting and fishing branches, to sign favorable contracts, to establish business connections and to expand a circle of useful contacts.
Skill Camp for kids became another premiere of the trade fair. The event introduced campers to the power and practical value of the natural world as they learnt to survive and thrive outdoors. The kids had an opportunity to learn essential survival skills – navigation, animal tracking, tool making, fire safety – to keep them safe and self-reliant in the wilderness. Campers tackled challenges suited to their age and skill level, advancing as their proficiency and comfort grow. They managed to deepen their survival skills and build confidence outdoors.
A significant event – the awarding ceremony for the hunters participating in the All-Russian project Records of Russian Gaming Trophies was held at the fair. The exposition comprised specially selected articles from RosOhotRybolovSoyuz Association museum and private collections provided by Safari Moscow Hunting Club members. Leonid Sonin, of the Club board, announced the name of the holder of the honourary title Hunter of the Year – Leonid Palko which had bagged 87 games in various trophy categories.
