6th International specialized exhibition and forum
ROADEXPO
The 6th International specialized exhibition ROADEXPO supported by the Ministry for Transport of the Russian Federation, the Federal Road Agency and Avtodor State Corporation was held October 13 through 15 in the first pavilion of Crocus Expo IEC. The event ran on the eve of the professional holiday – Road Sector Workers’ Day. ROADEXPO is the leading business platform incorporating specialists of the road branch for the solution of urgent challenges for the federal road infrastructure development.
More than 190 exhibitors from 27 regions of the Russian Federation and 8 foreign countries (Austria, China, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Turkey and Netherlands) participated in the project.
Specialists in road building had an opportunity to get acquainted with the latest achievements of other branches and to find partners among producers of metalwork, electric equipment, paints, geosynthetic materials, engineering systems, automated control systems for traffic management.
The leading players of the road branch market, the largest national companies and representatives of world brands, such as Honeywell, Tensar and Wirtgen were among the participants this year. Scientific organizations and centers, developers of control and monitoring equipment (Russian Road Research Institute ROSDORNII, Rosdortekh, StroyPribor KTB and etc.), producers and suppliers of special equipment – Cominvest-AKMT, Merkator Holding, Stim, design and construction organizations, bridge builders, asphalt plants were among loyal participants
Participants of the opening ceremony in 2015:
- Maxim Sokolov, Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation;
- Roman Starovoit, Head of Rosavtodor Federal Road Agency;
- Piotr Ivanov, Deputy Governor of the Moscow region;
- Serguei Kelbakh, Chairman of the Board of Russian Highways State Company (Avtodor);
- Serduei Egorychev, Director of Department of Special Exhibition Projects Crocus Expo IEC.
Andrey Vorobyov, Governor of the Moscow region, sent his welcome address to organizers, participants and guests of the forum. He also noted that the forum became an important discussion platform uniting representatives of business, scientific community and power.
The Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation made tour of the exposition with the delegation of guests of honor after the ceremony.
The popularity of the project increases with each edition. This year the event attracted more than 4 200 attendees which made 12% visitors increase compared to 2014 edition.
The organizers of the exhibition aimed to bring together on the same platform all key national and worldwide players and to offer an excellent platform to encourage networking among scientists and engineers in order to accelerate the development and research in this field as well as implementing new technologies, the newest equipment, materials and components in the road industry.
ROADEXPO exhibition has developed to incorporate more than just an exhibition. These special events served to attract leading exhibitors and visitors and allowed all participants the chance to broaden their knowledge and of course their sales potential. Members of Public Council at the Federal Road Agency, deputies of the State Duma and Federation Council, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, heads of road branch and professional communities took part in the work of the highly topical business program.
Expanded meeting on ensuring road safety of the Public Council under the Federal Road Agency took place October 13.Top officials from road branch GIBDD (State Traffic Safety Inspectorate) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and professional communities took part in the work of the session. Roman Starovoit, Head of Rosavtodor Federal Road Agency, noted that stability of financing, increase of efficiency of budgetary funds expenditure and updating of regulatory base was one of priority tasks of the branch. Much attention was paid to issues related to restoration of roads damaged in emergency situations. Also positive tendencies were noted – for example, in comparison with last year the number of road accidents on Russian roads was reduced by 14%.
Numerous seminars by Avtodor State Corporation and European Road Federation (ERF) were also held October 13.
A number of round table talks were held October 14: Road funds in the Russian Federation. Effective mechanisms of development of road economy; About improvement of legislation in the road sector; Ways to improve the efficiency of construction supervision on the roads; Improving the system of weight control of vehicles, etc. Sergey Ten, deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, told about the bill on highways related land tax and property tax which could go to regional road funds and due to it regional funds would receive an additional source of financing.
The 6th International specialized exhibition and forum ROADEXPO became a representative event devoted to the development of road infrastructure of Russia. It was the perfect platform from which to preview new products, evaluate market trends, and establish long-lasting and commercially profitable partnerships and effect professional networking related to cargo security and traffic safety and comfort provision. Key feature of the project was in a system approach to solution of the problem of national road system development.
Representatives from more than 50 mass media editions provided press coverage of the event including Russian information agencies, press, specialized media, TV and radio companies.
