SAFARI EXPO. SPRING

The 16th International exhibition Safari Expo. Spring 2014, one of the most important events which is very popular among hunters and fishermen, was successfully held February 20-23, 2014 in the second pavilion of Crocus Expo IEC.

The exhibition was officially supported by the Ministry for Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation and the All-Russian Alliance of Public Associations of Hunting and Fishing (RosOkhotRybolovSoyuz) that showed its importance for the development of gaming, fishing, active leisure and tourism not only in Moscow and area but also in the territory of the country..

More than 200 Russian and foreign companies accommodated on overall exhibit space comprising 10 000 sq m brought their best goods and technologies of gaming, fishing and tourist branch. As its popularity and success rate has grown over the last years Safari Expo has developed to incorporate more than just an exhibition. These special events serve to attract leading exhibitors and visitors and allows all participants the chance to broaden their knowledge and of course their sales potential. The calendar of events featured Young Fisherman festival held February 22 in Stroguino valley, multiple premiers among which a long awaited presentation of the second edition of The Record Book of Russian Hunting Trophies, archery and arbalest, knife throwing, parade of dogs of hunting breeds, competition of producers of knives, and also other fascinating events.

The project provided the perfect platform from which to demonstrate the potential of the Russian regions for development of hunting, fishing and ecological tourism, preservation of culture and traditions of the people of the Russian Federation. The exposition presented a full range of proposals from national and foreign producers of goods and services in the field of the hunting, gaming and fishing equipment, special equipment, technical means and vehicles used in hunting, gaming and fishing, outdoor activities and tourism.

Expanded floor space was organized into 6 thematic sectors: Hunting, Fishing, Technical means, Leisure and Tourism, Boats and Health of Nation. It improved visitors navigation around the halls, made suppliers stands easier to find and provided our large show with more efficiency.

The format of the project provided professionals of the branch with perfect  opportunity to find new and to strengthen already existing contacts. Presentations of leading producers and dealers of fishing and hunting products attracted many attendees.

The Official Opening Ceremony of the trade fair took place February 20 at 01:00 p.m. Serguei Egorychev, Director of the Department of Special Exhibition Projects Crocus Expo IEC was the moderator of the ceremony. Participants of the ceremony:

• Pavel Gusev, Editor-in-chief Moskovskiy Komsomolets publishing house, President of Safari Moscow Hunting Club;
• Tatyana Aramileva, President of Rosokhotrybolovsoyuz Association;
• Leonid Sonin, Chairman of the Board of Safari Moscow Hunting Club;
• Serguei Aprelov, producer, presenter of the program My Fishing at Russia 2 TV channel;
• Roman Madyanov, theatre and movie actor, Honoured Artist of Russia;
• Asif Iliasov, representative of Global Safari company.

Spring edition of Safari Expo exhibition became a significant event for the branch and met expectations of participants and guests having outlined future vectors of development. The event was of great success both at general public and at representatives of leading mass media.
