4th International specialized exhibition-forum Road

The 4th International specialized exhibition-forum Road was held October 14 through 17, 2013 in the first pavilion of Crocus Expo IEC.

It is the main event of the year devoted to the Russian road infrastructure development holding the leading place among Crocus owned projects. The exhibition ran under official support of the Ministry for Transport of the Russian Federation, the Federal Road Agency of the Ministry for Transport of the Russian Federation (RosAvtoDor), the Russian Association of territorial road administration (RADOR), the Russian Non-commercial Association of Design and Exploratory Organizations (RODOS) and the Moscow Automobile and Road Construction Institute (MADI).

This year the exposition covering 14 000 sq m incorporated more than 200 leading representatives of the branch from 28 regions of Russia and 15 foreign countries (Belarus, Ukraine, Finland, Netherlands, Czech Republic, China, Taiwan, Germany, Korea, Greece, India, Austria, USA, Switzerland and Canada).

The exhibition was segmented according to thematic sections:

• Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS)
• Innovations, bridges and tunnels (design, construction and operation)
• Traffic safety, service area at roadside
• Road building machinery. Leasing

High ranking official persons participated in the Official Opening Ceremony which took place October 14: Maxim Sokolov, Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation; Oleg Belozerov, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation; Roman Starovoyt, Head of the Federal Road Agency of the Ministry for Transport of the Russian Federation (RosAvtoDor); Victor Evtukhov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation; Evgeny Moskvichev, Chairman of the Committee on Transport of the State Duma of the Russian Federation; Igor Urmanov, First Deputy Chairman of the board of the State company Avtodor and Peter Ivanov, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow region Government.

The representatives of state authorities underlined that the exhibition exposition annually becomes a platform for demonstration of full range of products and services of integrated approach to the development of road-building branch of Russia, promotion of innovative technologies, increase of traffic safety and comfort level. The speaker also congratulated everybody with the coming Road Builders Day.

The dense and topical business program of the fourth edition of the project featured conferences, profile seminars, round tables and plenary sessions. The events covered the most demanding and strategically important issues related to the Russian road system. Experts had an opportunity to exchange experience of innovations introduction, consider specific proposals on increase of traffic safety and quality of provided highways, to discuss in details technical aspects of construction and maintenance of motorways. The organizers of the business program were Crocus Expo IEC and Prime marketing agency.

The saturated calendar of events included exhibitors’ presentations and round tables on the following highly disputable issues: Road Funds, Improvement of Regulatory Base for Design of Nonrigid Road Surface, Modern Production Technologies of Asphalt Concrete, Construction and Repair of Highways, Geosynthetic Materials in Road Construction, Condition and Prospects of Development of Motor Transport Weight Control and others. A meeting of the Public Council by the Federal Highway Agency was held within the frames of the program.

Gala Concert with participation of Russian show stars devoted to a professional holiday of road economy employees – to Road Builder Day took place in Crocus City Hall.
