Garden Build – building a garden!

International specialized exhibition for landscape architecture, gardening, territory improvement, design of open spaces and goods for horticulture Garden Build, the most significant event for professionals of landscape industry, will be held April 1 through 4, 2014 in Crocus Expo IEC. The exhibition features a wide range of products and services to shape and grow Russia's gardens & play areas as well as urban and commercial spaces.

The organizers of the event are Crocus Expo IEC in cooperation with the Association of Landscape Architects of Russia (ALAROS) and GreenExpo Ltd. exhibition operator.

The International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA), the French Federation for Landscape Architects (FFP), the Russian Union of Builders (RSS), the Association of Landscape Architects of Russia (ALAROS), the Moscow Association of Landscape Architects (MOLA), the Guild of Managers and Developers (GUD) and the Association of Planting Material Producers (APPM) will render official support of Garden Build.

About 150 companies from Russia and many foreign countries (Germany, the USA, England, Poland, China and others) will gather in hall 9 of the second pavilion Crocus Expo IEC. Producers and buyers of construction materials and equipment, engineering systems, machinery and technologies for territory improvement and landscape design of open spaces, experts in the field of territories improvement, landscape architecture and space planning, production and delivery of materials and components, design studios, architectural bureaus and salons, associations and unions, and also producers of children's playgrounds, outdoor and countryside furniture, small architectural forms, equipment and tools, planting stock, pools and ponds, baths and saunas will present their latest developments.

The overall exhibit space of the new perspective project will comprise 6000 sq m.

Thematic location of companies shows that such segmentation assists visitors to easier orientate themselves at the exhibition and the exhibitors get a better effect of their participation in the exhibition. Garden Build thematic sections:

  • Landscape architecture and design
  • Small architectural forms
  • Devices, technologies, engineering systems, materials and equipment
  • Planting material
  • Goods for horticulture

As its popularity and success rate has grown over the last years the trade fair has developed to incorporate more than just an exhibition. These special events serve to attract leading exhibitors and visitors and allow all participants the chance to broaden their knowledge and of course their sales potential. The calendar of events will feature conferences, seminars and master classes of known national and foreign experts of landscaping which will unite all types of activity of gardeners and greenery specialists. Seminars on the following subjects will be held within the frames of Garden Build: court organization, playgrounds and sports complexes, city parks, "turnkey" construction, street furniture, landscape architecture and design of public and private territories, structures and small architectural forms in landscape, equipment and technologies, arrangement of green spaces and planting material.

Landscape forum City Park will become the key event of Garden Build exhibition. The forum is a meeting place for authoritative professionals on improvement of urban areas, parks and gardens. The following issues will be discussed at the forum: the city and the nature – who will win?, especially protected natural territories, historical heritage – to hew trees down or not?

The following seminars will be held within the frames of the exhibition: Modern Specialized Equipment for Urban and Private Greenery; Eco Protector Day; Ideology of Historical Monuments Preservation of “Green Architecture” in Germany; Types of “Green Walls” and Their Composite Solution; Environment Aesthetics. Postindustrial Urban Spaces and etc.

Besides the program will include review competition on the best arrangement of house adjoining territories, sports and children's playgrounds among municipalities of Moscow and the Moscow region with support of the Russian Union of Builders and the Association of Landscape Architects of Russia.

The Gala Opening Ceremony of the exhibition will take place April 1 at 12:00 p.m. High ranking guests from IFLA, FFP, RSS, ALAROS, MOLA, GUD, APPM and Central Botanic Garden will participate in the ceremony. The questions-and-answers session will be organized for mass media after the ceremony.
