Post show report of the International specialized pet goods exhibition ParkZoo 2025
The International specialized pet goods exhibition ParkZoo 2025, one of the largest events of national zoo industry, was held September 24 through 26 at Crocus Expo.
The International pet industry exhibition ParkZoo reaffirmed the pet industrys position as one of the most dynamically developing sectors of the Russian economy. More than 300 exhibiting companies from Russia, Belarus, China, and other countries took part in the event. Over the course of three days, more than 15,500 industry professionals attended the exhibition.
The show featured cutting-edge technological solutions, including apps and smart devices for pet care, as well as functional treatsthe fastest-growing product category in the pet industry, with sales increasing by nearly 25% in 2024.
In the past three years, approximately 350 new domestic pet product brands have entered the Russian market. Over 200 new products were showcased in the ParkZoo New Products Showcase, including more than 100 types of pet food, dozens of treats, and 30 veterinary medicines.
Companies representing all major market segments were present: retail and wholesale businesses, pet food and accessory manufacturers. Among the visitors were veterinary clinic and pharmacy directors, as well as owners of grooming salons and pet hotels.
The diversity of represented sectors reflects the maturity of the market. Retail chains are demonstrating readiness for large-scale expansion; local production of pet foodincluding premium linesas well as toys, accessories, and care products is steadily growing.
The ParkZoo business program reflected the current challenges faced by market participants. The introduction of mandatory labeling for veterinary medicines and pet food has raised a number of financial, technical, and organizational issues. These were discussed during a conference held at the exhibition, which brought together representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (operator of the Chestny Znak labeling system), and members of the pet industry.
A second conference, dedicated to new development opportunities for the pet industry, served as a platform for open dialogue between business representatives and the National Pet Industry Association (NPIA). Manufacturers and retailers outlined the most pressing market concerns, which will be taken into account as the NPIA develops its next action plan to protect the rights and interests of industry participants.
The next edition of the International specialized pet goods exhibition ParkZoo will be held September 23 through 25, 2026.
