Post show report of the International exhibition of welding materials, equipment and technologies Weldex 2022
The 21st International exhibition of welding materials, equipment and technologies Weldex was held at Crocus Expo October 11 through 14.
Weldex 2022 in figures:
- 4,954 attendees from 72 regions of Russia and 11 countries.
- 123 manufacturers and suppliers of welding equipment and materials from 10 countries (Russia, Republic of Belarus, Turkey, China, India, Pakistan, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Switzerland).
- 5 515 sq m of exhibition space.
- 12 business program events, 55 speakers, 373 unique visitors.
- 3 professional competitions.
- 8 winners of the Weldex 2022 award.
Exposition.
Within 4 days, more than 100 leading manufacturers and suppliers from Russia, Belarus, China, Turkey, India, Pakistan, Switzerland, Italy, Sweden, Germany and the Czech Republic presented their best solutions.
One could find a large-scale exposition of new products and high-tech solutions from such leading companies and brands as: Abinsk Electrometallurgical Plant, VECTOR GROUP, Samara Welding Group, DeltaSvar, GOODEL Welding Materials Plant, Keramax, Metallstroysnab, RUTECTOR, TENA, Cherepovets Welding Materials Plant, ALLOY, Castolin Eutectic, Cebora, ESVA, Fubag, LASSARD, MAGMAWELD, Megmeet, Messer Cutting Systems, etc.
More than a third of companies were new exhibitors. Among the new companies were APS Expert, NPO Inverter, ASKUE Systems, OTS, Vyborg, DonElectroIntel, Electro Intel, Fine Electrowerktsoyge, GOODEL, GREENS, TETA, Megmit Welding, PK Istochnik, Plakart, Pride Avtomatiks, RITM, SELMA, SOLID, Technograv, Trilobit, Velitul and others.
The best solutions were presented in the following product groups:

- equipment and materials for applying protective and hardening coatings

New exhibition section - Fastenex
One of the pleasant surprises that awaited visitors at the exhibition this year was a completely new section of fasteners, hardware and tools. The section was represented by international companies, including BSC corporation, HEBEI FUAO FASTENER MANUFACTURING CO. LTD, Jiaxing Chinafar Standard Parts Co. LTD, FASTO INDUSTRIAL CO. LIMITED, Hebei Chengyi Engineering Materials Co. LTD, HEBEI YUETONG FASTENERS MANUFACTURING CO. LTD, ANHUI CHITONG HARDWARE TECHNOLOGY CO. LTD, etc.
It was possible to get acquainted with a wide range of nuts, bolts, anchors, rods, washers, rivets, self-tapping screws, screws, tools and many other fasteners at the exhibitors’ stands of the section. Among the new products that the companies presented at the exhibition were fasteners and hardware used in solar energy, through-hole anchor with complex threaded bolts in cracked concrete, G-clamp, hex head screw, double-threaded drywall screw and much more.
Business program.
The rich exposition of the exhibition was accompanied by a program of conferences, sessions, and discussions on topical issues.
On October 11, a marathon of business events at the exhibition opened with a strategic session "Welding materials, equipment and technologies market: localization and development strategy of the domestic market." The session was moderated by Evgenia Dmitrieva, Executive Director, ITS Energo LLC.
The first day of the exhibition was continued by the All-Russian Meeting of Welding Specialists, dedicated to the problems of the welding industry in the Russian Federation and ways to solve them. The meeting was chaired by Yuri Podkopaev, President of the Moscow Intersectoral Association of Chief Welders (MMAGS).
October 12 was the day of robotization and aluminum welding. The VI Scientific and Practical Conference on Aluminum Welding "New in welding, cutting, surfacing in the production of aluminum and aluminum alloy products" was held then. Recognized experts from RM Rail, Central Research Institute of KM Prometey, CJSC Cheboksary Enterprise Sespel, S7 Space, Arkonik Russia/SMZ, Moscow Polytech, Avial LLC and others shared their experience and valuable knowledge. The moderator was Elena Asanova, Director for Coordination and Market Interaction, Aluminum Association. The co-organizer of the event was the Aluminum Association.
The second day of the exhibition was completed by the session "Robotization of welding production", which discussed the implementation of projects for robotization of welding, possible difficulties and ways to solve them, the prospects for the Russian market of industrial welding robotics, the supply of robots, spare parts and technical support during global changes, domestic robot manufacturers, the choice of welding robot from the Asian region as the trend of the current economic situation. The co-organizer of the event was NAURR (National Association of Robotics Market Participants).
On October 13, on the third day of the exhibition, unique applied master classes of the welder's school ran. Visitors were able to learn what's new in the standardization and certification of welding services, how to weld weather-resistant steels of increased strength, which welding consumables are effective in welding high-strength steels, and what specific features you should pay attention to when welding dissimilar materials. Experienced speakers were ready to share their knowledge and reveal secrets to upgrade the target audience and increase the competence of the professional community. The co-organizer of the event was ARSS (Association of the Steel Construction Development).
Professional competitions.
On October 11 and 12, 2022, the annual professional competitions "Best Professional Welder", "Best Young Welder", "Best Engineer (Scientist) in Welding" and the "Women in Welding" competency competition ran right at the exhibition.
Specialists not only from Russia, but also from Belarus will take part in the competitions. Moscow and the Moscow Region, the Republic of Tatarstan, Novy Urengoy, Saratov Region, Rostov-on-Don, Nizhny Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Stavropol Region, Novosibirsk, Smolensk Region, Lipetsk and many others were among the Russian regions and cities represented by the participants of the competition.
The results of the competitions were announced at the awarding ceremony on October 13.
The next edition of the International exhibition of welding materials, equipment and technologies Weldex will be held October 10 through 13, 2023 at Crocus Expo.
