WorldFood Moscow 2022 post show report.

The largest autumn exhibition of world class food products WorldFood Moscow was held September 20 through 23 at Crocus Expo. WorldFood Moscow is a professional platform that brings together food manufacturers and suppliers with buyers from wholesale and retail trade companies  and public catering companies.

The project brought together 637 manufacturers from 24 countries of the world and 54 regions of Russia. Foreign companies were represented by Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Egypt, Israel, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Republic of Korea, UAE, Pakistan, Poland, USA, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Czech Republic, Chile, Sri Lanka and Ecuador. For the first time, companies from the Arkhangelsk and Nizhny Novgorod regions, the Republic of Tatarstan and Sevastopol demonstrated their products at the exhibition.

The event was attended by 18,547 representatives of wholesale and retail, catering enterprises.

Responding to the needs of the industry, the exhibition team in partnership with RetailTech organized an IT alley. Within this special zone, software and IT solution providers presented their innovative developments for retailers to improve business efficiency.

As part of the special exposition Business for Everyone, young manufacturers and individual entrepreneurs presented their products to the market.

In partnership with the Organic Foundation a collective stand of organic producers was presented at the exhibition for the first time.

The WorldFood Moscow exhibition featured a rich and varied four-day business program, with forums, analytical and practical sessions, plenary discussions, and conferences. The program featured 24 events. 111 speakers made lectures within the frames of the business program. 2 438 delegates attended the events of the program.

Food Industry Leader’s Forum was traditionally held within the frames of the business program. The forum was focused on the exchange of experience and solutions to urgent problems of retail, as well as presentations of up-to date statistics and market trends, with the participation of industry leaders.

As part of the Retail Academy program for commercial departments of retail chains, practical conferences took place, focusing on the development of various categories; fresh food and vegetables; ready-to-eat meals and ultra-fresh; confectionary; dairy and cheese; organic food and more.

A pitch session for food-tech startups was held within the calendar of events September 23. Based on the voting of the jury consisting of top fund investors, well-known entrepreneurs and representatives of large corporations, the award was given to innovative and scalable projects that were attractive for investment.

For the first time this year, there was a Boosting Retail, a series of master class from leading experts in sales growth: «Neuromarketing strategies as a sales booster: from production to the shelf», «Talking display: 22 ways to make a product more noticeable on the trading floor», «Success stories - first choice brands».

A completely new format for the exhibition, the Culinary Marathon was held on September 20, 21 and 22. Every day, chefs from the Chefs Team Russia prepared original dishes from the products of the exhibitors. The project was supported by the ministries of Thailand and Argentina.

In addition, WorldFood Moscow host September 23 two awards ceremonies: Product of the Year tasting competition and WorldFood Organic competition

The next edition of WorldFood Moscow will take place September 19 through 23, 2023.
