The largest furniture exhibition of spring, Moscow International Furniture Show 2012, has been opened!
The Gala Opening of a long-awaited launch of the season, Moscow International Furniture Show, took place May 15 in Crocus Expo IEC!
The largest international furniture trade fair fr om the first day became the major event for the professionals of furniture market segment of Russia, the CIS countries and many foreign countries.
It’s a new promising project co-jointly initiated and organized by Crocus Expo IEC, one of the largest exhibition and convention centre in the world, and MEDIA GLOBE, a leading Russian independent exhibition operator.
About 300 companies offer their products and services. And such key players of the market as Fabrika 8 Marta, Shatura, Ufamebel, MebelKit, A.R. Impex, Avanti-M, Valmax, Dana, Bogacho's Empire, Mebel Moskva, ElburG, Yartsevo and many others are among exhibitors of the fair.
The Association of Furniture and Wood Processing Industry provided official support of the Furniture Show.
The Official Opening Ceremony was held May 15 in the lobby opposite fr om Hall 13. Participants of the ceremony:
- Alexander Bortsov, First Deputy Director General CROCUS INTERNATIONAL ZAO;
- Alexey Striganov, President MEDIA GLOBE OOO;
- Gerald Bose, Director General KoelnMesse;
- Andrey Radukhin, Director General of Association of Furniture and Wood-processing Enterprises of Russia.
Front-page news of the Exhibition was presented at the Show opening ceremony: Gerald Bose, Director General of Koelnmesse and Alexey Striganov, Director General of Media Globe – Crocus signed a strategic agreement: a memorandum of understanding envisaging a joint international furniture show in Moscow from 2012 on. The MISF will organize “Rooms Moscow”, a separate segment with its concept being developed for the Russian market. For the first time Koelnmesse will amalgamate selected segments of its exhibitions that enjoy the leading international standing. Range of the exhibits will cover soft furniture, modular solutions, office furniture, outdoor furniture, kitchen furniture, as well as furniture for contractors that equip, for instance, cruise liners or hotels. Rooms Moscow visitors will also be able to view the latest interior decoration trends in floor coverings, wall and ceiling decoration materials, lighting, as well as bath and spa equipment.
At the press conference held on the opening day of the show the organizers presented the Moscow International Furniture Show development prospects. The competitive right of the main national exhibition is not just a declaration but a clear action mechanism, based on a correct and verified assessment of the balance of forces on the international furniture market, including traditional “furniture” countries like Spain and Italy.
The Moscow International Furniture Show that even this year is held as the main national furniture exhibition of spring, is a new-format exhibition wh ere each day is rich in special events.
Professional partnership of the major exhibition organizations makes the MIFS a floor wh ere all participants win through knowledge, know-how and professionalism.
