Moscow Boat Show, the largest in Russia international exhibition of boats and yachts, was held March 7 through 11, 2018 in Crocus Expo on the eve of the opening of the yachting season.

The project became a significant event for all representatives of the yachting business, fans of water motor crafts and devotees of active outings on water spaces (more than 13 000 visitors).

Exhibitors
Wide geography coverage of the Moscow Boat Show participants included 17 countries (Austria, China, Croatia, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Latvia, the Netherlands, Poland, Republic of Korea, Sweden, Turkey, Tunisia, USA, Russia) and 12 cities of Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Izhevsk, Kaluga, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Saratov, Sevastopol and Yaroslavl).

About 150 companies (including such top players of the market as Ultraboats, Prestige Yachts, SMART YACHTS, Super Marine, Beneteau, Kata-Lagun, Velvette Marine, Bavaria Yachts, Boat House, M-Power Group, Novikom, Volvo Vostok and other companies) displayed their latest engineering developments in the yachting sector and a wide range of the most demanded products and services.

Azimut Atlantis 43 and Galeon 340 Fly flybridge cruiser became again the highlights of the Moscow Boat Show.

Nord Star Yachting brought one of the most demanded models of XO Boats Finnish brand. XO 250 Open is a practical, powerful and versatile wave splitter that can carry up to eight adventurers. Besides Nord Star Yachting displayed XO DFNDR – a boat for the adventurous minds, for outdoor activities or as a commuter to an island.

For many foreign producers and distributors Moscow Boat Show opened new entry into the Russian market: more and more companies from Turkey and Poland participate in the exhibition, having appreciated its prospects.

Participation in the project became a unique opportunity to present a company and products to a distinctly selected targeted audience of specialists and devotees. Business representatives were well prepared to discuss business in the Russian market and to close a deal on-sight.

Moscow Boat Show traditionally became a communication platform for sea travelers: Janmor Yachts Russia team project helped to find new participants or passengers for a travel.

Events platform
Members of the Union of Designers and Architects held a number of seminars devoted to tendencies in the interior design of yachts within the business program of the Moscow Boat Show 2018.

Moscow Boat Show supports annually new comparatively young kinds of sport. This year stand up paddle surfing and stand up paddle boarding (SUP) was introduced to the show attendees. All willing, including the smallest visitors, had an opportunity to try their skills on special boards of various configuration during various master classes and test drives initiated and organized by the Russian SUP club held in a specially facilitated pool.

Besides there were events held within the frames of the exhibition which contributed to the promotion of public awareness of water sports and to attraction of new students to yachting schools and new participants to amateur competitions.

For the first time in the history of the project a studio of one of information partners – Yacht Radio – was on air right on-site. Moscow Boat Show participants and guests told about their activity and communicated with colleagues.

Experts and attendees participated in the TV shoot of the program Dialogues at Boat Show organized by the participant and information partner of Moscow Boat Show, a Russian TV channel about water spaces, OCEAN-TV.

Besides Moscow Boat Show became again a discussion platform of the Moscow region Sailing Federation (FPS MO). Plenary session About Current Status and Development of Sailing Sports in the Moscow region, Membership in Clubs was held within the frames of the project’s business program.

The business program covered also issues related to state regulation in the sphere of use of water resources in Russia. Representatives of official bodies, branch associations and unions came to know about the latest news in the sphere of water transport legislation. In particular, Gennady Chizhov, Director of Regional Association of Yacht-clubs and Owners of Small Size Vessels NP, told about changes of a payment rate for use of property objects.

Amayak Nunikyan, Deputy Head of the department of the State Inspectorate for Small Size Vessels (GIMS) of the Ministry of emergency situations, told about the draft of amendments to the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union About Safety of Small Size Vessels submitted GIMS EMERCOM of Russia in December 2017.

Representatives of participating companies noted that the number of visitors increased in 2018. So, despite everything, the yacht branch in Russia continues to develop! The exhibition in no small measure promoted commercial success of exhibitors who emphasized that the current economic situation hadn’t produced a critical negative effect in the industry. Many also expressed confidence that they would have acceptable revenue during the season.
