SUMMING UP:
INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION AND FORUM
INDUSTRY OF HUNTING, FISHING AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITY – A NEW PROJECT ORIGINATION

The International exhibition and forum Industry of Hunting, Fishing and Outdoor Activity, devoted to all issues related to hunting, fishing, sports, tourism and outdoor activity was successfully held November 2 through 5 in Crocus Expo, one of the most modern expo grounds of the country.

More than 300 companies from 14 regions of Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Arkhangelsk, Belgorod, Leningrad, Murmansk, Chelyabinsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Omsk, Saratov regions, Seaside, Krasnoyarsk, Stavropol, Altai regions, the Republic of Karelia) and foreign countries (Latvia, the Republic of South Africa and etc.) displayed their novelties and innovative developments this autumn.

Hunting, fishery and outdoor activity are not only hobbies, but also full-fledged branches of economy: industrial production and economic activity with application of innovative technologies, modern machinery and equipment.

Demand for goods and services of the outdoor activity segment including hunting, fishing and tourism continues to grow. First of all it is well reasoned by positive tendencies of citizens’ interest growth to outdoor activities which became an important element of a healthy lifestyle.

According to numerous polls and sellers’ estimates, an average Russian fan of hunting and fishing annually spends from 900 to 3 000 rubles for his arsenal renewal, and the most avid fans – up to 30 000 rubles. The ratio of supply and demand is a powerful incentive for the development of national production.

The existing legislative regulation in the field of hunting, fishing, and civil weapon doesn't promote formation of these segments of national economy. A state and investment support, a developed infrastructure are necessary for the branch growth of small and medium business, for the development of hunting and fishing, sports, extreme and ecological tourism. The exhibition and congress project Industry of Hunting, Fishing and Outdoor Activity has been conceived as a uniform platform for demonstration of solutions of the national hunting and fishing, sports and tourist industry designed to provide dialogue of representatives of the government, business community and end users about the prospects of the of economic branches development.

Mission of the Industry of Hunting, Fishing and Outdoor Activity project is creation of optimal conditions for implementation of strategic challenges of the state and development of the branch of hunting economy, fishery complex, active lifestyle and hobbies, internal and entrance tourism on condition of maintaining stability of ecological systems; promotion of national manufacturers and suppliers of hunting, fishing, sports and tourist segments of the market; support of small business in the hunting, fishing, sports and tourist industries; demonstration of the best regional practices on protection and reproduction of bioresources, development of ecological tourism and promotion of active lifestyle and sports activities.

The official Opening ceremony of the event was held November 3. Its’ participants:

• Sergey Donskoy, Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Russian Federation;
• Vladimir Lebedev, Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Federation Council for Agrarian Policy, Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation;
• Alexander Solokhov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Culture;
• Georgy Kalamanov, deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation;
• Roman Skoryi, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency on Tourism;
• Andrey Filatov, Director of the Department of State Policy and Regulation in the sphere of hunting industry of the Ministry for Natural Resources of the Russian Federation;
• Sergei Dereviashkin, Head of Administration of the Licensing Department of the National Guard Main Administration of State Control and Licensing
• Andrey Zdetovetsky, Head of the Department of Control, Supervision and Fish Conservation of the Federal Agency for Fishery;
• Alexander Saveliev, Head of PR centre of Russia's Federal Fisheries Agency;
• Tatiana Aramileva, President of Rosokhotrybolovsoyuz association.

The exposition covered all thematic sections from all spheres of outdoor activity: SUVs, all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, quad bikes, motor boats, engines, civil weapons for hunting, shooting sports and games, bows, arbalests, cold arms, tuning of shooting equipment, outfits and equipment, collections of trophies, shooting and military and tactical clubs, hunting grounds and safari tours; outfit and equipment for fishing and underwater fishing, fish breeding and fishing farms, equipment and innovative technologies for fisheries, fish tours; everything for outdoor activity and outdoor sports including tents, awnings, mobile baths, field kitchen, bicycles, jumpers, outfit and equipment for extreme sports, active tourism and expedition tours on ecotourism.

There were hundreds of booths lining the aisles containing the latest products for both fishing and hunting enthusiasts.  The attendees had an opportunity to learn about the newest equipment from some of the top manufacturers and reps, retail vendors, public service exhibits, charter boat captains, plus fishing boats and more. The exhibitors displayed the latest and advanced products and services related to big game outfitters, hiking and backpacking, lodges and resorts, fly fishing, sporting camps, outdoor wear, bait and tackle and all kinds of outdoor products.

Over 20 events of the business program with participation of representatives of authorities, business and professional community were held within the frames of the exhibition and forum. Panel discussions on regulation of circulation in weapons, organization and maintaining of hunting and fishing farms, development of tourism and outdoor activity, seminars, pitch session, speeches of mentors and business angels y and so forth attracted many attendees. Fascinating interactive events: training in shooting and throwing of cold weapon, test drives, master classes, lectures, tournaments, competitions on grants receiving and many other family oriented things were of special interest for avid hunters, fishermen and just fans of outdoor activity.

The international exhibition and forum Industry of Hunting, Fishing and Outdoor Activity became an effective discussion platform for representatives of the government, business community and professionals of the branch. Besides the project was not only a significant event for professionals and enthusiasts, but also a family oriented event opening to its guests the heritage of the country.

In the long term the events of the forum are intended to become the vector defining the development of the national economy of hunting, fishing, sports and tourism segments, and the exposition to become a comprehensive indicator of the situation and its dynamics in these branches.
