Exhibition of needlework, creative crafts, art and folk crafts

A new project incorporating all fans of handmade creativity, Art&Craft exhibition, was launched at the beginning of April 2015 in Crocus Expo IEC. A unique platform presenting products of inspiration and painstaking labour by skilled crafters from all over the world joined scale and radio-controlled models displayed annually in the first pavilion. A cross section of crafters had the opportunity of creating a visual experience to visitors through the display of finished material, plus encourage participation in their specific craft. One is sure to have found everything for crafts, from A – Z to keep those fingers busy!

The speakers at the Official Opening Ceremony of the two shows noted in their welcome speeches that any hobby plays an important role in human lives, and they also underlined the aspiration of the organizers to unite the greatest number of entertaining pastime types in one place, to present all possible novelties and to promote useful hobbies.

Art&Craft is the unique project which united on one platform more than 80 masters and companies. A wide range of works in various crafts was presented at the exposition: products from selenit, boiled and dried wool, wood, malachite, leather and other natural materials; hand painted clothes and accessories; design clothes; decorative bracelets; lampwork, vintage and retro style decorations; diamond painting; Murom yuft; handmade flowers; ceramics; tapestries; antiques; handmade dolls; dresses in Russian style, scarves, laces; interior decoration and furniture made from natural materials; decoupage and many other things.

Aiming to assist visitors to easier orient themselves Art&Craft exposition was segmented as follows:

  • hand-made articles from paper (origami, scrapbooking, quilling);
  • ceramics, joinery and blacksmithing;
  • woodcarving, engraving on steel;
  • handmade adornments;
  • embroidery, knitting, sewing, felt;
  • painting on glass, modeling clay;
  • ceramic floristic;
  • historical reconstruction.

The visitors of Art&Craft had an opportunity to see what’s new in the world of scrapbooking, beading, embroidery, pewter creations, handmade cards, jewellery making and many more! The organizes arranged many master classes free of charge, which helped everybody willing to tap into creative side. With an array of raw materials the attendees were right on track to fulfill their creative needs. The show was an inspiring experience for the whole family! There were lots of fabulous opportunities to learn something from experts at the fair. Whether your interest in jewellery making, handmade pottery, embroidery, beadwork or patchwork, there were hands-on and seminar-style learning sessions running every day

Fashion shows were held on a special podium: Fashion Show of Little Fairies from Art House Yansons Victory, Malevich's Geometry from a team of young designers, Coquette collection of hats show from fashion designer Camilla Wang, So Princess show (products from young designer Maria Popova, Pricesita brand), handmade crowns from Svetlana Gavrilenko and magnificent decorations from master Milena.

The Present Past team turned Art&Craft exposition into even more fascinating action. Professional reconstructers of events and way of life of gone eras encouraged visitors to do some shooting with wooden bows at the outdoor area located in front of pavilion 1, trained in the art of joinery, forging and ancient written language.

The 5th anniversary festival Professionals Grow While Reading organized by the Format-M publishing house with assistance of the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications was held within the frames of the fair. This year the event united students, schoolchildren, teachers and parents at this fiesta of skills providing the children with an opportunity to learn about professions in various branches and to make their choice.

According to visitors’ feedback the event was highly estimated as demanded. With all wishes and recommendations considered the edition in November 2015 will be even more interesting, informative and attractive!
