FIRE SAFETY of the XXI CENTURY

September 24-27, 2013, Crocus Expo IEC, Moscow

The International branch forum-exhibition Fire Safety of the XXI Century, a significant event in the sphere of development, production and propaganda of fire safety equipment in Russia, was held September 24-27, 2013 in Crocus Expo IEC.

The International branch forum-exhibition was held with support of the Committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on safety and corruption counteraction, a number of the branch federal ministries, agencies and associations involved in the business of fire safety provision.

The official opening ceremony of the event took place September 24, 2013 in the second pavilion of Crocus Expo IEC. Guests of honor noted importance of the forum-exhibition as one of tools in improvement of fire situation in Russia, and also paid attention to the exposition of the latest scientific and technical developments in the prevention and suppression of fires. The speakers expressed their gratitude to participants and guests and wished them productive work, conclusion of contracts and useful meetings.

Mozhaisky creative centre for children and youth concluded the gala ceremony by performing choreographic composition and song about heroic fighters with fire. After ribbon cutting ceremony all present were invited to the exposition.

About 100 Russian and foreign companies from Belarus, Ukraine, Germany, China and Sweden, including representatives of legislative and executive power of the Russian Federation participated in the event. The overall exhibit space of the forum-exhibition comprised 3500 sq m (2300 sq m of indoor exhibition space and 1200 sq m outdoor).

This year the latest developments in the prevention and suppression of fires in the cities, settlements, forests, on transport, on objects of power supply systems, places of oil and gas production and transportation were displayed, and also work on promotion of fire safety among the population was held at the forum-exhibition.

Certain business events, profile scientific and practical conferences and seminars with participation of experts, leading scientists and experts took place within the frames of Fire Safety of the XXI Century forum-exhibition.

A number of interesting events devoted to pressing issues of fire safety, scale operational demonstration of fire-engine vehicles, means, systems and products on firefighting were organized within the frames of the project. The organizers have initiated a number of contests: Best Technical Solution in the Field of Fire Safety, Leader of Firefighting Means Sale, Best Materials and Visual Aids in the Organization of Population Training, Best Engineering Solution in the Field of Security and Fire Automatics.

Consumers of fire extinguishing means and systems of security and fire automatic equipment had an opportunity to consider the best offers, discuss issues related to investment into national enterprises delivering specified means.

The operating presentation center gave to all participants an opportunity to present information on novelties of Russian and foreign companies in the field of fire safety in the form of short reports and video presentations.

Fire Safety of the XXI Century forum-exhibition was visited by about 3000 people and over 95% were specialists of various branches and 5% were students and postgraduate students. According to experts and exhibitors the event has succeeded in achieving its main target: many business meetings were held and many products found their clients.

It should be noted that exhibition Fire Safety of the XXI Century has achieved the primary goals assigned to them by the organizers. The interesting exposition and the sated business program have contributed to the development in the sphere of manufacture and maintenance of interaction efficiency between developers, manufacturers and consumers of fire-fighting equipment and machinery and promoted the solution of actual problems of the branch.
