POST RELEASE

9th International exhibition Furniture Club Premium

The middle of October was noted for Crocus Expo IEC by holding of a unique project – the International exhibition Furniture Club Premium. The main distinctive feature of one of the most perspective events of the exhibition center’s own program consisted in presentation on one platform of author's collections of furniture and interior articles made to order (often in the single copy!). The exposition was supplemented for the first time by lamps, textiles, tableware and exclusive elements of decor.

Hall 13 of the third pavilion became October 16 to October 19 a meeting place of leading producers and suppliers of furniture operating in Middle Plus, Premium and Elite segments with representatives of trading companies, hotel and restaurant business, construction organizations and developers, designers, architects and decorators.

This year the exhibition was for the first time held in a new format – Premium. Despite a peculiar debut, many guests of Crocus Expo IEC purposefully came to establish contacts with certain manufacturing companies. Participants noted efficiency of Furniture Club Premium as a business platform for expansion of own clients base and increase in sales: in the first day of work many presented items were already ordered.

Production of large furniture market players of Russia (Meda, Maxick, Evanty, Maninimobili, Cinno Cillini, Nayada, Ufa Wood with presentation of a new Zzibbo brand), and also distributors and official representatives of companies from Switzerland, Italy, Pakistan, Indonesia, France and Turkey (ELE, Wald, Luxury Goods, Emozioni di Casa, Emile Marqu, LineaFlex, Cliff Harden, Radros, Ideal Gift and many others) set up a magnificent exposition on more than 7500 sq m.

Moreover workshops of exclusive author's furniture participated in the exhibition (Art Wood, OST, Renaissance and Nostalgia) and numerous design studios (Kashuba Design, DMD-studio, Liberty Design, Pappa Karla and others).

The visitors had an opportunity to see not only a wide choice of classical, modern, design and author's furniture, but also other sections of the exposition: unique interior articles (starting from handmade wall clocks and up to original crystal ware), decor and light, handmade mattresses, textile for furniture production.

The attendees admired vintage articles of design art, exquisite mirrors, family furniture to order, a sample of a favourite prince Charles’ chair, majolica, magnificent imperial interiors, and much many other things! It should be noted that the majority of exhibits were made of valuable woods that emphasized compliance with a modern trend – aspiration to environmental friendliness in all details.

Design ran all through the trade fair: starting from floristic compositions decorating the exhibition space and up to author's solutions of interior creation. Furniture Club Premium looked to advantage due to the project partners – KAVER DESIGN studio, AMF International Flowers Delivery Network and Tekstil trading house.

Close cooperation with branch educational entities which gives an opportunity for students to display their works within the exhibition is one of positive customs of the organizers. Kirill Cheburashkin, Head of Furniture Design department of the Stroganov Moscow State Academy of Art and Industry, said at the opening ceremony of the trade fair that before students had made their degree and graduation works “to be put into a drawer” but today they make them to order.

2013 edition of the trade fair took place due to the official support of the Association of Furniture and Wood Processing Enterprises of Russia. Vladimir Makeev, Deputy Director General of the Association, told about the significance of the event for the overall branch and wished the exhibitors fruitful work and commercial effect.

Arcady Zlotnikov, First Deputy Director Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre and curator of the trade fair, and Vlada Antonova, Project Manager Furniture Club Premium, joined the speakers and underlined the advantage of the project’s rebranding. They expressed their opinion that their launch would become the first step to premium segment development in our country.

As its popularity and success rate has grown over the last years the project has developed to incorporate more than just an exhibition. These special events serve to attract leading exhibitors and visitors and allows all participants the chance to broaden their knowledge and of course their sales potential. Recognized experts brought to the attention of professional community and guests of the fairgrounds a number of conferences, seminars on technologies of furniture sales, master classes from known Russian and foreign designers, workshops on technologies of wood processing, including lectures about recent trends in the sphere of furniture design. World famous speakers made lectures within the frames of the exhibition: Vasily Tikhomirov, professor of industrial design at the higher engineering school Neuchâtel in Switzerland, and Michele Capuani, designer, architect, professor of Politecnico di Milano and Domus Academy.

There were also three zones the visitors couldn’t but attend: Interior Designview (complex free consultations from architects, designers and decorators), Design Planet (exposition of young designers’ works) and ArtWorld.

According to the post show report it can be stated that Furniture Club Premium managed to occupy its own niche in the segment which gains increasing value in Russia. The producers showed competitiveness in terms of price and quality of products.
