14th International exhibition Safari Expo. Spring

The next edition of Safari Expo. Spring International exhibition, one of the most important events which are very popular among hunters and fishermen, was successfully held at the end of February in the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre. More than 25 000 visitors came to the spring exposition this year!

The exhibition is officially supported by the RosOkhotRybolovSoyuz Association and the Ministry for Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation. It is one of the most attended and authoritative events of the profile in Russia which stably develops, improves and attracts more and more visitors with each new edition.

The spring exposition comprised 12 000 sq m and incorporated the leading producers of goods and services in the segment of gaming and fishing outfit, special equipment, powerful vehicles for movements in severe wilderness conditions and interesting proposals on ecological tours organization. More than 300 companies from 20 regions of Russia (Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, the Astrakhan, Arkhangelsk, Bryansk, Volgograd, Magadan, Ryazan, Rostov, Nizhny Novgorod, Pskov, Samara, Tverskaya and Chelyabinsk areas, Kamchatka territory, the Republics of Dagestan and Yakutia) and their foreign colleagues from Azerbaijan, Argentina, Belarus, Spain, Canada, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Mozambique, New Zealand, Nicaragua, the USA, Turkmenistan, Tanzania, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, France, Estonia and the Republic of South Africa participated in the show.

All exhibits were segmented in five thematic section: Hunting, Fishing, Technical Means, Leisure and Tourism and Health of Nation. Thematic location of companies shows that such segmentation assists visitors to easier orientate themselves at the exhibition and the exhibitors get a better effect of their participation in the exhibition. Moreover the visitors has an opportunity to purchase everything requires right on site.

As its popularity and success rate has grown over the last years Safari Expo has developed to incorporate more than just an exhibition. These special events served to attract leading exhibitors and visitors and allowed all participants the chance to broaden their knowledge and of course their sales potential. Show of hunting and gun dogs were held at the show. All dog lovers had an opportunity to receive cynologists’ advisory on dogs care, breeding, training and field trial with hunting and gun dogs. Visitors of the tradeshow enjoyed a calendar of entertaining events: an open championship for knife throwing, fishing specialists show, master classes on taxidermy and game trophies.

For the first time in the history of hunting and fishing exhibitions in Russia, the interregional public organization Club of Fans of the Russian Decoy-duck managed to present fully unique domestic breed of the Russian decoy-duck. Even their short participation in the work of the exhibition had the widest resonance among ordinary visitors and professional hunters.

The 2nd International specialized exhibition for high cross-country ability transportation means Cross-Country Vehicles was held in the Crocus Expo IEC alongside with the Safari Expo exhibition.

The Official Gala Opening Ceremony was traditionally presented by Arcady Zlotnikov, Deputy Director General ZAO CROCUS. He welcomed visitors and exhibitors and introduced high-ranking guests of the fairgrounds.

Participants of the ceremony:

• Anton Bersenev, Director of the department of State Policy and Regulations in the Sphere of Hunting and Protection of Hunting Resources of the Ministry for Natural Resources of the Russian;
• Eduard Bendersky, President of RosOkhotRybolovSoyuz Association, Chairman of the Central Managing Committee of RosOkhotRybolovSoyuz Association;
• Leonid Sonin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Moscow Hunting Club Safari;
• Dmitry Shparo, a Russian Arctic explorer and endurance skier;
• Sergei Aprelov, Presenter of TV program My Fishing at Russia 2 TV channel;
• Victor Cheyverikov, Executive Director OAO CHETRA-Industrial.

All speakers noted the importance and urgency of the events and draw attention to the special festive mood reigning in Crocus Expo IEC on the eve of the Motherland Defender Day and congratulated the strong half of mankind on a coming holiday.

The organizers of the exhibition succeeded in bringing together on the same platform all key national and foreign players and in offering an excellent platform to encourage networking among specialists and fans, to present the company and products in the Russian market, personally meet a wide audience of specialists, study market conditions, establish strong business relationship and just purchase various novelties for the season.

Traditionally surprising exhibits, competitions and draws, trainings devoted to active and healthy lifestyle were waiting for numerous avid hunters, ramblers and just outdoor type of persons who prefer to make way through canes and wood thicket or to while away the time with a fishing tackle.
