Vitaly Mutko, Deputy Prime Minister responsible for Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy, said at the opening ceremony that 81 regions display their proposals and offers related to tourism at the International Travel Fair Intourmarket.
The Intourmarket travel fair is an industry-focused tourist platform for expanding the intra-industry dialogue and working out best solutions and ways of development of the market in the new environment. It is the venue for developing effective mechanisms and building inter-industry relations that help create fundamentally new quality tourism products and improve the service level in the industry. The organizer of the fair is Expotour Ltd. ITM is the main tourism event that is officially supported by the Russian Federal Agency for tourism and other federal and professional organizations contributing to the travel industry development in Russia. The trade fair will run March 11 through 13 in Crocus Expo IEC.
Intourmarket is the only exhibition in Russia that showcases the full range of tourist products of the country — all Russian regions participate in the fair. There is no exaggeration saying that the exhibition is “at the height” of the key tourist trend — import substitution in tourism. At the same time the exhibition presents traditional leaders of the Russians’ outbound tourist flow: Spain, Turkey, Egypt, Greece, Bulgaria, Morocco, China, Romania, Cyprus, Thailand and other countries, to which Russia is a traditional and favorite market. CIS and Baltic countries are also very active.
Visitors will see stands of the Republic of Crimea, Krasnodar krai and Rostov region, the Republics of Adygea and Komi, Vladimir, Arkhangelsk, Moscow and Yaroslavl regions, Kamchatka and many other. The regions of the Volga Federal district, as it was last year, get assembled at a colorful stand under the Great Volga brand, the Far East and Siberian regions meet at the Eastern ring of Russia booth; the North Caucasus regions will showcase their travel attractions at a colorful joint exposition. On the eve of the 50th anniversary of the Golden ring route the regions of Central Federal district are joining forces to promote their resources.
Intourmarket is the implementation of the Hosted Buyers business meeting program which is unique for Russian exhibitions. The goal of the program: to support small and medium businesses in tourism, to provide a range of services to enhance professional skills and establish business contacts between exhibitors and travel industry professionals. The Hosted Buyer program is fully funded by the Expotour company.
