A new underground station Myakinino with the direct exit to the Crocus City territory will become the extension of Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line of the Moscow metropolitan. The new metro station will be named Myakinino though the name Crocus City has already become habitual for the Muscovites and visitors of the capital; nevertheless, it was decided to give the new station the historical name Myakinino. It is reasoned by the fact that the complex area is located in geographical zone called from of old Myakininskaya valley.
The metro station Myakinino will become the first Moscow suburbs situated station. It is remarkable also, that for the first time in the Russian Metropolitan history it will be a station constructed with a private capital investments: the customer and со-investor of the project is ZAO CROCUS INTERNATIONAL
There will be three concourses with two exits to the pedestrian way, two exits to the subway and two exits to surface ways running up to the venue pavilions. Each concourse offers comfortable cross-platform transfer: at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of each station.
The construction works of a new Metro Bridge across the Moskva River are under way. The trains from Myakininskaya valley will pass over the metro bridge to a densely-populated Mitino area.
Dmitry Gaev, Head of the Moscow Metropolitan, has assured that “the new station will be put into operation in December 2009 and very likely even earlier”.
The visitors of the fairgrounds will be relieved of the main problem of a modern megapolis i.e. transport accessibility due to the commissioning of the Myakinino metro station.
